Faith Forum

Opportunities for exploring and growing in faith are at the heart of our adult Christian formation ministry. Faith Forum, our version of adult Sunday School, is a year-round option for adults to engage in Christian education.

In Faith Forum, we discuss a wide range of subjects, including Scripture, Church traditions, liturgical seasons, various ways of praying, and contemporary topics such as the relationship between science and religion.

Faith Forum meets Sunday mornings from 9:30 to10:15 a.m. (between the 8:30 and 10:30 services). All adults are welcome and no preparation is necessary.

Education for Ministry

In Education for Ministry (EfM), a small group of 6 to 12 adults meets weekly throughout the school year to discuss Scripture, the history of Christianity, and introductory theological concepts. No prior Biblical or theological study is required.

EfM is a four-year program sponsored by the School of Theology at Sewanee University. Commitments are made one year at a time. Regular attendance at meetings and consistent reading of weekly assignments are a must for a meaningful experience. The group recruits new members in the spring for the following school year.

Discovery Weekend

Discovery Weekend focuses on hospitality and welcome to newcomers, as well as an opportunity for lifelong Episcopalians, as we take a fresh look at the things we believe about God, about the Bible, about the Church and about ourselves. This class is open to everyone, and no prior experience or knowledge is required. We will use the basic outline of the faith found in the Book of Common Prayer to guide our class. This class will serve as the preparation for adults who would like to be confirmed or received into the Episcopal Church when our Bishop visits. Call the church (268-7280) for the date of the next Discovery Weekend.
