Love in Action - St. Peter’s Annual Pledge Campaign

What is the Annual Pledge Campaign? St. Peter’s Annual Pledge Campaign supports 95% of the operating budget of the church. Our annual pledge drive occurs each fall to ensure we can budget responsibly for the coming year.

Why is pledging important? The Annual Pledge Campaign supports the day-to-day operating costs of the church. Your offerings are used in a number of different ways including, but not limited to: salaries and benefits for St. Peter’s clergy and employees; worship services, including music; ministries for children and youth; Christian education; Pastoral Care; Outreach; Diocesan giving; utilities; building and landscape maintenance; insurance.

Should I pledge even though I regularly put money in the offering plate? Undesignated donations in the offering plates help support the operating budget. Pledges enable the Vestry to plan and budget responsibly for the coming year.

How much should I give? The tradition of giving back to God and to the church comes from the Biblical practice of “tithing,” which means to give back a tenth of our earnings to God (Numbers 18:16). There is no required amount to give and each gift is strictly confidential. Pledges, whether received by mail, in person, or online, are confidential and seen only by St. Peter’s finance staff. Pledge amounts are never shared.

Every gift is appreciated and vital to the operating budget of our parish. Your gift is a symbol of your commitment to God’s work at St. Peter’s.

How long is the Annual Pledge Drive? When is my pledge due? This year’s Pledge Drive begins September 27th. The earlier you can pledge, the more helpful it is for planning. The drive ends November 15th when we celebrate our parish’s participation.

How can I make my pledge? Please return your pledge card in an envelope to the church office, in the offering collection plate, or mail it. You can also make your pledge with the pledge card found on this page you are reading.

Fulfilling Your Pledge: Making a pledge and fulfilling a pledge are separate actions

  •         Fulfilling a pledge means making payments toward the promised gift.
  •         Gifts for 2027 can be made this year or in 2027.
  •         Gifts can be made as one single gift or periodically throughout 2027. Earlier giving provides confidence that the aligned          budget will be fully funded.
  •         Gifts can be made with checks, credit cards (online), bank drafts (ACH) online, or through gifts of securities through                  foundations or otherwise.
  •         Gifts fulfilled through credit cards do cause St. Peter’s to incur a fee, subtracting from the gift amount. As such it would            be appreciated if this fee is covered by you, and options to do so will be available at time of payment.
  •         Recurring, automatic bank or credit card drafts are available online as well.
