Stewardship calls us to share our time, abilities and resources with others. By giving a portion of our time, talent, and treasure back to God, we are performing an act of faith and an expression of gratitude. Through stewardship we acknowledge that our life, work, abilities and skill, and the people and places we love are all gifts from God.
Stewardship at St. Peter's is a combined effort of our parish community. It includes the act of making a promise, a pledge, of financial support to the stewardship of our sacred place and the ministries of our Parish. Stewardship also includes a person's participation where they make a gift of their time and talents. We are reminded that our gifts provide an opportunity to support the programs our Parish offers. As we worship together, we share our presence and remind ourselves that we "go in peace, to love and serve the Lord."
From Christ's teachings, we know that everything we have is a gift from our Heavenly Father. Before making a financial pledge, we ask that you prayerfully consider what you are called to promise and give in the form of your personal pledge. A financial pledge forms the basis of our Parish's annual budget, planning, and ministries. It is an important component of our Vestry’s duty as stewards of our parish's resources.
Each year, members of our parish volunteer to serve on the Stewardship Committee. This committee provides an opportunity to examine the biblical foundations of stewardship, facilitate a pledge drive, and encourage others to consider what they are called to give.
There are many ways to share your gifts. Some gifts are financial. Another means to give is to share time and abilities with others.
